My Story
In 2022, I launched Gounibe with a simple vision: to create a space where art, sustainability, and community come together. What began as my nickname and DJ/producer alias (dropping my very successful Soundcloud here), has evolved into a creative platform focused on expression and connection. Living in London, a city alive with energy and inspiration, I draw ideas from every corner of its streets and its people.
At the heart of Gounibe is my painting. Through abstract acrylic works, I explore emotion, movement, and the interplay of colour and form. My pieces often begin as an experiment, a way to lose myself in the process, letting each layer of paint tell its own story. The result is work that captures moments of tension and release, light and shadow, inviting viewers to reflect on their own interpretations. For me, painting is where creativity and emotion merge most powerfully.
My work also spans other mediums. I love working with my Canon T50/Pentax K2, using it to capture landscapes and architecture that speak to me, and turning those moments into prints for others to enjoy.
Sustainability is also key to my practice. I bring this ethos to life by reimagining pre-loved garments, turning finds from charity shops and vintage stores into unique, hand-crafted pieces. This isn’t just about creativity—it’s about challenging waste and celebrating what already exists, a philosophy mirrored in my art.
Gounibe isn’t just a project—it’s a space for creativity to evolve, where stories, emotions, and ideas come together. On the 8th of February, I will present my first solo exhibition at t H E I R gallery in Fulham, London. There I will showcase my journey through painting and design, hoping you’ll join me to explore these works and the passion behind them.
